I’m a twenty-something creative who has worked a number of jobs across a smorgasbord of industries (who hasn’t?)
I worked in a job agency straight out of uni and spent a lot of my time updating the resumes for our job seekers. When my friends graduated uni and couldn’t find work, I combined my writing degree with my job agency knowledge to help them find work.
And Good Friend Resumes grew from there.
For me, Good Friend Resumes is more than just writing resumes - it’s creating a culture of confidence around career building and equipping my generation with the tools they need to go out and do amazing work.
WHO IS GOOD FRIEND RESUMES FOR?
Everyone!
But, I tend to work mainly with people just starting out on their career journey.
Why?
I believe our current education system is setting us up to fumble through the early stages of our careers, especially if we’re not going down a traditional career path.
The advice of pounding the pavement and following up applications with a phone call just doesn’t cut it in this digital world of online applications and applicant tracking systems.
When I wrote my fifth resume for a recently graduated uni friend, I couldn’t help but wonder - at what point did our education system fail so miserably that not even tertiary-educated humans could successfully navigate the job hunt.
So, I get a real kick out of helping recent graduates, early career professionals and those looking to pivot into another industry break through the gatekeeping barriers and secure their next move.
